2010 RBYA Elections
Nominate someone for the RBYA youth committee.
Visit:
The time has once again come for the yearly convention, and this means the the term of the RBYA is coming to an end. You might be asking yourself, "so what?? why would this concern me?" Well if you are a romanian baptist youth and are currently active in your romanian baptist church, then this should concern you because you have a VOTE and a VOICE in the upcoming RBYA ELECTIONS that will take place in Detroit, MI the first weekend of September. This is serious stuff. The elections for the new committee is the most important "event" that we have with the RBYA because it determines who will be serving in the RBYA ministry for the upcoming year. Any previous RBYA committee member/leader can tell you that its not easy to make a commitment to serve. Its a huge responsibility: serving in the ministry of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the creator of the universe! Therefore, let me urge you brothers and sisters in Christ to take this seriously as well. It is not for those who just want to get their names out there, to nominate their friends or to have fun bossing other people around at camps. It is for those who are spiritually mature and serious about serving our LORD and their brothers and sisters from their whole heart.
"What if I cant make it to Detroit?" you may ask. Well your vote can still be heard and you can still nominate those that the Lord puts on your heart. But let me start out by explaining the process of the delegates and nominations........
VOTING:
- On the saturday morning of the convention, there will be a youth assembly in which all the youth and delegates are to gather for purposes of voting on new committee members and new propositions to the constitution.
- Everyone active romanian baptist youth member is encouraged to come and participate.
- The Elections Committee will be there to moderate the meeting and count the votes of the delegates
- Absentee ballots can be filled by the delegates ONLY (due the friday before the convention weekend) and can be found at http://nominate.rbya.org under the "absentee ballot" tab
DELEGATES:
- The delegates are those who are chosen by their youth group/youth leader to REPRESENT their church at the convention (or through an absentee ballot)
- Delegates are the ONLY ONES who are allowed to vote at the convention for ease of the voting process because they will be voting in agreement with and on BEHALF of their youth.
- 1 delegate is appointed for each 10 "youth" members. (ex. 30 youth members=3 delegates)
- **A "youth" member has qualifications including but not limited to: under the age of 40, baptized, active member of the church being represented
- FOR THIS REASON: EACH CHURCH YOUTH GROUP THAT WANTS TO PARTICIPATE SHOULD HAVE A MEETING AMONGST THEMSELVES TO DISCUSS WHO WILL BE APPOINTED AS DELEGATES AND WHO THEY AGREE UPON VOTING FOR
- Delegates can be submitted through the online form found at http://nominate.rbya.org under the "home" tab
NOMINATIONS:
- There are 12-20 positions on the RBYA committee board for which someone can be nominated.
- See http://nominate.rbya.org for more detailed descriptions of the positions under the "view the departments" tab
- A nominee must be nominated by a nominator and must be seconded by another person.
- A nominee must have qualifications including but not limited to: being a Christian, being an ACTIVE member of the romanian baptist church, must have a good reputation and must have been previously involved helping, leading and serving in RBYA events
- Nominations and seconds are made through the online form found athttp://nominate.rbya.org under the "nominate" tab
- Multiple people can be nominated for one position (hence the voting session at the convention....)
- Nominees are listed at http://nominate.rbya.org under the "nominate" tab as they are nominated for all to see
**The document from which this information was extracted can be found at http://nominate.rbya.orgunder the "download the guidelines" tab (deadlines TBD)
We want to stress the fact that this is a very serious process, through which we want to glorify God in this ministry. We want as MANY people as possible to be informed and to participate and to be nominated. May God give us all prayerful spirits and wisdom in regards to RBYA elections 2010.
Please email us back at this email address if you have any questions!
